How To Practice Self Love

Spread the love

Today I am going to be sharing with you guys how to practice self love, this is easier said than done, why do I say this you must be wondering, well must of us say that we want to practice self love but we just end up just scratching the surface and not going in-depth to find our true self.

The act of practicing self love is the process where you love yourself unconditionally without looking for faults in yourself, where you don’t strive to be perfect, where you have confidence in yourself enough to do anything you put your mind to. So without wasting any more time let’s begin

How To Practice Self Love

Tell Yourself Something Positive every day

Tip number one on how to practice self love is to tell yourself something positive every day, this is very important because you get to start your day on a positive note, what I do when I wake up every day is tell myself this, I believe, I can and I will so what this means is I believe in my dreams/goals, I can achieve my goals and I will achieve my them.

Surround Yourself With Those Who Love You

For your journey with self love, you need to always surround yourself with people that love you and will always support you no matter what you because this will help you grow and gain confidence in yourself.

Stop Comparing

Tip number three on how to practice self love is to stop comparing yourself to other, honestly, a lot of us are guilty with this, we keep comparing our self to other people, I mean we are all born differently, you can’t keep comparing yourself to someone who maybe worked hard to get where they are or maybe are talented in whatever field that they are in if you want to get where they are then you need to work hard and believe in yourself enough that you can achieve whatever it is that you put your mind to.

Stop All Communication With Toxic People

Toxic people can be very bad for someone who wants to start their journey towards self love, they will keep bringing you down even when they see you see you succeeding in something, that is how some people are. So you need 5o distance yourself from them so that you can have some peace of mind.

Find Your Passion

Another tip on how to practice self love is to find your passion, you need to dig deep and find that something that brings you nothing but happiness, that brings a smile to your face whether its drawing or doing crafts, it can be anything as long as you are happy about doing it.

Be Patient

When you start this journey of self love, you need to know that it will take a long time for you to get to where you want to be, the process will be slow but at the end of it you will be happy with it, you can also take a look at the questions for self-discovery, this questions will help in finding out who you are and what your values are (It helps me a lot and yes I still ask myself this questions)

Forgive Yourself

Another tip on how to practice self love is to forgive yourself, one thing you need to know is that you are always going to make mistakes and it is OK to forgive yourself when this happens no one is perfect everyone makes mistakes it is the decision to learn from it or not to learn from it that sometimes define us. Here are steps to forgiveness that you can take today.

Start Journaling or Recording your thoughts

Number eight tip on how to practice self love is to start journaling or record your thoughts, this is very important, you need to start writing down your thoughts and feelings, this will help you let out whatever it is that you are feeling at a certain moment. What I do is whenever I feel angry, I just pick up my phone if my notebook is not close to me and just record myself talking about my feelings and when I am done I sometimes save it or just delete it and I always feel better about it.

Express Yourself More

Another step on how to practice self love is to express yourself more, you need to let people know how you feel, speak mind in a conversation if you don’t like something that someone is doing to you, let them know, you keeping it to yourself won’t help them or you.

Find Your Happy Place

Second to the last tip o how to practice self love is to find your happy place, you need to find your happy place, somewhere that makes you happy whether its the beach or you reading a book or just taking a drive.

Have Fun

The last tip on how to practice self love is to have fun, this is the most important part, have fun with your journey of self-discovery, have fun with yourself ad you will be happier for it.

That is all the tips I have for you on how to practice self love, I hope these tips help you and remember this is a journey it will take some time for you to get to where you want to be and also you have to put in the hard work if you want to see results.

Like once I get going, I’m on a roll and I get even more fired up! I guess it’s good to get it out onto paper though instead of keeping it in your head. That’s pretty essential!
