How To Stop Procrastinating

Get Rid Of Distractions : The first thing to do is to get rid of any distractions ,whenever I have work to do the first thing I do is to make sure I pit my phone in airplane mode because my number one distraction is my phone my phone once I do that, I get down to work without getting distracted. Find out what distract you easily and try to get rid of it.

Get Yourself Organized: Another tip on how to stop procrastinating is getting yourself organized, I always feel a bit better whenever I put down my thoughts or I write out the outline of a blog post that I want to write. So if you want to stop procrastinating, you need to start getting yourself or your work place organized.

Set And Achievable Goals: The third step on how to stop procrastinating is by setting simple but most importantly achievable goals. Most people set goals that are impossible to achieve but to stop procrastinating you need to start setting goals that are simple, you can break down your goals into achievable bits.

Start Timing Yourself: Timing yourself whenever you want to start working can really help you with stopping procrastinating, so what I do is I set my timer to two hours and that two hours I break it down to thirty minutes because my attention span is very short, so I have to go finish a blog post within that time phase and guys I can tell you confidently that it has helped me a lot. So all you have to do is time yourself try out how long you can finish a task from there I know you will definitely get a routine out it.

Take Breaks: All work and no play makes us dull, so if you want to keep yourself on top your game then you need to take breaks whenever you are working on something. While taking a break you can read my blog post on 20 Things To Do When You Are Bored.

Get Yourself A Reward: The sixth tip on how to stop procrastinating is getting yourself a reward after you have achieved a certain goal, basically what I do whatever I finish writing a blog post or I just finished achieving a drawing goal I either reward myself by watching TV for three hours or get myself something that I have been craving for a long time, this helps want to achieve more of my goals.

Change Your Environment: I used to write my blog post on my bed and I couldn’t get much done but once I started working, I noticed a change in my productivity, I was writing more and didn’t feel like not doing anything. If you can change your environment then you might just see a change in your productivity level.

Try To Make Friends with People Who Inspire You: Another tip on how to stop procrastinating is to reach out to people who inspire you and try to make friends with them, this will help you achieve more of your goals. What I did was I connected my love for blogging and my life long dream of becoming an on air personality, I reached out on instagram to one of my favorite on air personality (she inspires me a lot) and also to other bloggers on twitter this has helped me a lot in focusing on my goals. You can also do the same for yourself. You can follow or reach out to me on Instagram.

Set Goals With A Friend: The second to the last tip on how to stop procrastinating is to set goals with a friend, this process will help in keeping you and your friend accountable to each other and to your goals.

Don’t Wait For The Perfect Time: The last tip on how to stop procrastinating is to stop waiting for the perfect time, there is no perfect timing to anything especially when it comes to your dreams, it either you start on it right now or you don’t.

Lastly guys, no one and I mean no one can help you achieve your goals for you, you have to do that by yourself, yes you will get help along the way but you are the one that will put in the hard work. I have given you tips on how to stop procrastinating but I won’t be there to help you put it in to action you have to do that yourself, you don’t need to think about it JUST DO IT and I am sure it will be worth your while in the end.

That is all the tip on how to stop procrastinating. I hope you are making the best out of this quarantine period take this opportunity to start working towards your goals and also remember to WASH YOUR HANDS and DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE, ALWAYS MAINTAIN 5 FEET FROM EVERYONE. STAY SAFE GUYS.
