How to stick to a routine that will help you achieve your long term goals and gives you the discipline you need to work on yourself and your dreams
When you create a routine, sticking to it can be challenging, I can’t tell how many routines I have started that I was not able to stick with it, but as time went on I was able to learn how to stick to my routine. That is why I am sharing with you tips on how to stick to a routine.
To achieve your dreams, you must have some habit in place that keeps you grounded, takes control of your life, and improves your productivity. people can’t seem to stick to a single habit long enough for it to be ingrained in of part their routine.
All you have to do to stick to your routine is to set your mind to doing something that can be hard for you even with all the difficulty that might come your way. Like i always say these are just tips, nothing will come out of it if you don’t take any action.
How To Stick To a Routine
Be Consistent: The first tip on how to stick to a routine is to be consistent, the best way to stick to a routine is to consistently make sure that you get up early in the morning, attempt that particular habit at the same every day.
If you miss a single day then it will be hard for you, you are not going to get good at the habit.
Start With One Habit: The reason why I was not able to stick to my routine was that I focused on too many habits, what you have to do is to take it one habit at a time. Staying focus requires a lot of energy and when I say focus one habit at a time, I don’t mean you should focus on drinking water today and working out the next day, that is not what I mean.
You focus on completing the habit for 30 days and then, you can move on to another habit because when the 30 days are up, the habit becomes a part of your routine.

Make It Fun: Another tip on how to stick to your daily routine is to make it fun, sometimes doing the same thing over and over again can get boring so to stick to your morning routine you need to spice things up, what I usually do to spice things up with my routine is whenever I fee my routine is getting boring, I just pick one random day during my workout session, play a dance song and just start dancing.
This helps me to have fun with my routine and also get my workout done. So find a way to enjoy your routine
Keep Track Of Your Progress: This is very important, you need to know how far you have gone with your routine, you can use my free planner to help you track your progress.
Reward Yourself: The last tip on how to stick to a routine is to reward yourself, once you have gotten used to your routine and you are consistent with it then gift yourself something that you have always wanted but you never got for yourself.
So give yourself that gift whether it is you going to the spa or getting yourself that cozy blanket, it’s time that you reward yourself for your hard work, you deserve it.
That is all the tips i have for you on how to stick to a routine, i hope it helps you stick to your routine, remember consistency is key and if you don’t take action you won’t get any result.
Consistency is key! I also found out that you have to find a way to enjoy it – otherwise it just won’t stick. Thanks for sharing xx
Consistency is important. I need to get better at using my bullet journal this new job has me working crazy hours so its hard.
so sorry to hear that
These are great tips! I think for me I struggle because I focus on too many at one time, so just focusing on one at a time has been a great help. Thanks for sharing! x
Totally agree with these tips! Especially starting with one habit first. Taking on too many habits at once is a sure way to fail at starting and maintaining a routine (based on experience lol)
Great advice! I have always had a difficult time sticking to a routine. I think the problem is that I try to do too much at once. I am definitely going to try your suggestions. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks for sharing these tips!
This is such great advice. I find I am a lot happier when I stick to a routine, because I work shifts although this is in a four week pattern I fit my routines around them.
A routine is hard! I like your tips. I like to let my mind switch to knowing that this is a lifestyle change- not just a routine. That helps me know that it is something I want to keep up for good.
Great advice! Consistency is definitely key and rewards always help too x
